Dancer: A Layout for Riddersholm Design

My daughter dreams of being a professional ballerina and scarily enough her teacher doesn't discourage it, so we are letting her follow her dreams for now while we can afford it and while she puts in the hard work!!  She wants to go to a summer school with the Paris Opera Ballet and for the audition video we had to include some other photos including this one!! I had to of course do some more ballet themed layouts and the Vintage Venture papers suited this photo perfectly.

Here you can see the beautiful papers I used as well as some of the cutouts from the cutout sheet for Vintage Venture! I added lots of beautiful flowers from Prima and Petaloo.

In my main flower cluster I added some more of the gorgeous cut out pieces from the collection, fussy cutting one of the butterflies to perch on my flowers. I used more of the paper to die cut the gorgeous Prima doily.  I distressed the edges of the papers and added some coffee stain stamping around the layout for a special detail.

I hope you like my layout and I thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!

Tranquility: A Layout for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is For the Boys!  I chose a photo I took of my father this past summer when we were fishing with my girls one evening. I kept this layout fairly clean, I really love the patterns on the paper and wanted to showcase the dies!

Here you can see the gorgeous Birds Die, which fit in perfectly with this photo. I also added some Steampunk Heart Cogs behind the photo to add to the masculine theme. I added some loopy twine to emulate the fishing line!

I really like the way the Christmas Hill Border Die trees echo the trees in the photo. I added this die cut in two places. I found a gorgeous big green flower from Prima and added the gorgeous Large Rolled Rose and Medium Rolled Rose dies.  I tucked in a Open Leaf Flourish Die leaf and added some feathers from the Feathers die to finish it off. I added the title "tranquility" and a bit more twine loops on the flower ulster to finish it off.

I really like how this layout has turned out and I hope you do too, thank you so much for stopping by!

Bonheur: A Layout for Berry71Bleu

Time to share my January project for the Berry71Bleu challenge: Things With Wings

As you can see I have gone a little wild with the fussy cutting of the wonderful wonderful digi images from our generous January sponsor by digitalPAPER. I printed these at home quickly and easily and used them to create my flower frame around the photo of my daughter in her first pointe class. I just love the colors and details in these images!

For my things with wings, I chose to add some simple little butterflies as part of my layout...even these were punched from the digi papers!!

I fussy cut two sheets worth of flowers to create my garden frame. That is the great thing about digital files it allows you to print out as many copies as you need. I decided to make a garden on my layout so needed to print out a second sheet!!

I used a gorgeous paper from 7 Dots Studio Soulmates as my base paper, adding in some background misting, splashing and stamping. I added in a chipboard title and frame and some twine to add detail. I really enjoyed using the digital files and greating a layout around them this month and I hope you like it!!

French Garden Cards for Meg's Garden and a Farewell!

Hello my crafty friends!! Today I'd love to show you some cards I've made featuring the gorgeous 6x6 Meg's Garden French Garden Collection. I've used lots of products from Meg's Garden to complete my cards and I hope that you enjoy the final products!!

For my first cards above on the left, I used the gorgeous Small Rectangular Parisian Frame to frame one of my images from the Meg's Garden French Garden Cut and Create page. All of the images I used for my card come from this page.  I painted the Laser Frame in pink to tone in with the gorgeous flowers on the page. I added a Paper Lily, Pale Pink Heirloom Flower, and Hot Air Balloon Vintage Trinket. For a finishing touch I added some pink stitching.

For the second card above used another image from the French Garden Cut and Create page. I added some Paper Doily Strips under the image then a gorgeous Pink and Cream Open Paper Rose and a buttefly from the A4 Butterflies Transparency. The ribbon comes from the Temptations in Green package of goodies and I finshed off the card with black stitching.

For my next two cards above I used more of the gorgeous 6x6 Meg's Garden French Garden Collection and images from the French Garden Cut and Create.  I love the vintage dress on the lady in the first card! I layered the image on a 10 cm Paper DoilyI inked the whole card and the Paper Lily with Spiced Marmelade Distress Ink to tone in with the image. I added a gorgeous Butterfly Vintage Trinket, some 5cm Green Leaves and a lovely little Ivory Small Rose.

My second card above again uses a vintage image from the collection, some lovely gold ribbon from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown and two gorgeous butterflies from the A4 Butterflies Transparency. I finished off both cards with more black stitching.

I love the way my vintage cards turned out and hope you do too!!

My vintage image has lots of funky colors mixed together so I decided to continue the colors and patterns into my layout, repeating the harlequin pattern with orange colored texture paste and adding lots of different colored flowers.  I added some zig zag and straight stitching around the eduge of my layout.

Delightful Layout for Riddersholm Designs

This week I wanted to share a layout featuring the gorgeous Vintage Venture collection and some yummy Shimmerz Texturez and Wycinaka chipboard you can find in the Riddersholm Shop!  I have a great collection of vintage images that I love to use for layouts and cards, and since it is snowing a little outside today, I was inspired to chose this cute image!

Here you can see the gorgeous Sandy Stone Texturez modeling paste I used to make my snowflakes...the color tones in nicely with the papers.  I used some corrugated board (that my DT parcel came wrapped in, perfect!!!) and papers from the Vintage Venture collection for my layers under the photo. I stitched around the edges of my photo for a nice effect.

Here you can see where I layered some fussy cut pieces from the collection and added in some lace and gorgeous flowers and metal pieces. The delicate flourish chipboard piece is from Wycinaka.  I added some subtle stamping and splashes to finish off my background.

Thank you so much for visiting!!

Plaisir: A Layout for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Flourishes! I decided to feature the Berry Flourish die for my flourish. I added lots of layers to layout photo, tucking in flowers, frames, wooden clocks, tags and the Steampunk Heart Cogs around the photo as well as the Honeycomb Die. I also repeated these two die cuts on the smaller embellishment cluster at the bottom right of the page.  I added a wire oval frame over the photo and added some seagulls using the Birds Die. I added a title and lots of stamping, splashing and gesso touches on the layout.

Soar Layout for Riddersholm Designs

I thought I'd start the New Year off with a big JUMP!

I think this gorgeous paper from Vintage Venture is very modern looking and I wanted to pair it with a photo I have been wanting to use of my daughter jumping off of sand dunes at the beach this summer. The modern feel fits the photo of my young daughter, as well as the fun camera and arrow  chipboards from Wycinaka.

You can see many layers here on my layout. I started with a whitewash of gesso, on which I stamped a live laugh love stamp. I fussy cut a vintage balloon from the Vintage Venture collection to layer underneath my photo, I thought it fit the "soar" title I gave the photo.  The balloon image has lots of ropes and netting on it and so I thought it would be fun to tie into that with some twine across the layout.  I also used a garden wall stencils and my Gritty Graphite Texturez by Shimmerz to add some texture to the layout.

I used lots of gorgeous Prima blooms and added in some shells from my stash. I added some cut outs from the Tailgate Marked collection to finish it all of.

I hope we all get a chance to SOAR in 2015!
